On the 19th May, 2025, a special meeting of the Asante Akim Central Municipal Assembly was orgasised for the nomination of a Presiding Member and confirmation of the President's nominee (HON. EBENEZER EKOW AIDOO) as the Municipal Chief Executive.
The Electoral Commission of the Asante Akim Central branch conducted the election for the nomination of Presiding Member by the Assembly Members. After a peaceful voting and counting of the ballot Papers, Hon. Alex Nyarko was declared Presiding Member of the Asante Akim Central Municipal Assembly.
Pursuant to Article 243 (1) of the 1992 Constitution, and section 20(1) of the Local Government Act 2016, (Act 936) as amended, His Excellency the President, John Dramani Mahama has nominated Ebenezer Ekow Aidoo for appointment as the Municipal Chief Executive for the Asante Akim Central Municipal Assembly.
Ebenezer Ekow Aidoo's nomination was communicated to the Secretary of the Assembly and copied to the Presiding Member in a letter no. ARCC.80/01/03G dated 7th May, 2025.
In view of the above, a special meeting of the Asante Akim Central Municipal Assembly was scheduled for the Confirmation of the President's Nominee (Hon. Ebenezer Ekow Aidoo) on Monday 19th, May, 2025 at the Assembly Hall at exactly 1:30PM.
By copy of the above, the Municipal Electoral Officer was invited to conduct the ballot for the confirmation of the President's Nominee, and the Municipal Police Commander was also invited to provid security, and ensure peace and order at the meeting.
After a successful balloting, the President's Nominee (Hon. Ebenezer Ekow Aidoo) was therfore confirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive of the Asante Akim Central Municipal Assembly by the Presiding Member(Hon. Akex Nyarko) wth the support of the Assembly Members.
Hon. Ebenezer Ekow Aidoo sent his appreciation to the Assembly Members for their support and endorsement. He therfore stated that he will work collaboratively with all and sundry to achieving the common goal for the betterment of the Municipality as large.
