The Asante Akim Central Municipal Assembly on the 6th June, 2025, joined the Konongo-Odumasi Muslim community on Friday morning to observe the Eid-ul-Adha prayers in a show of solidarity and unity.

Accompanied by the Municipal Coordinating Director, party executives, and other members of the local assembly, the MCE participated in the special prayers held in Odumasi, which marked one of the most important festivals on the Islamic calendar.

Addressing the congregation after the prayers, Hon. Ebenezer Ekow Aidoo extended heartfelt wishes to the Muslim community and urged them to celebrate responsibly. He emphasized the values at the heart of Eid-ul-Adha — compassion, kindness, and generosity — encouraging all to embody these principles not only during the festive period but in daily life.

“I advised them to stay safe as they celebrate this festivity and also encouraged them to practice the values of compassion, kindness and generosity that this celebration embodies,” he shared during his speech.

Eid-ul-Adha, often referred to as the Festival of Sacrifice, honours the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son in obedience to God — a story cherished by Muslims worldwide. It is marked by special congregational prayers, the slaughtering of animals, and the distribution of meat to the less privileged.
