On July 12th, 2025, the Asante Akim Central Municipal Assembly under the leadership of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. Ebenezer Ekow Aidoo, organized the Mayor’s Major clean up exercise “Operation Clean Your Frontage” This was achieved in collaboration with Honorable Assembly Members, Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Government institutions and agencies.

The unwavering support from communities, Individuals, organizations, and others made this clean-up exercise a successful one. The exercise is aimed to promote culture of cleanliness, community participation in keeping our Surroundings clean and healthy as a Cooperate responsibility contributing to National development and Environmental sustainability.

The MCE in his address highlighted on the theme for the exercise “The Mayor’s Major clean up Exercise (Operation Clean Your Frontage) and said it is a reflection of our readiness as a Municipality to the viable initiative by His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana for bringing back the National Sanitation Day. He added that a clean environment is essential for healthy living, and through this exercise, we reaffirm our commitment to making our communities cleaner, healthier, and more habitable.

He assured participants that this exercise will be a monthly ritual and will be observed 1st Saturday of every month, panel of judges will evaluate the cleanliness of each electoral area, and the cleanest area will be awarded a prize - to develop the habit of keeping our surroundings clean, taking responsibility for their communities, and actively contributing to national development.

He extended his heartfelt gratitude to all participating in the clean-up and applaud them for their dedication and spirit of patriotism for the progress that Ghana needs.
